Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

MRI is a medical imaging technique used to non-intrusively provide visualization of the structure and function of the body. It is based on the phenomenon of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), whereby nuclei with an odd number of protons OR neutrons exhibit resonant behavior when subjected to an oscillating electromagnetic signal (of a particular frequency and amplitude) when contained within a constant magnetic field.
